An excellent crowd braved heavy snow at Holy Trinity Parish Church in Sutton Coldfield to see The British Police Symphony Orchestra on 17th March for an evening of classics.
Those attending heard classics from film and television including Grieg Peer Gynt Suite No.1, Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel Overture, The Sky at Night theme, Finlandia, the suite from BBC’s Sherlock and many more!
Nick Revell from Friends of Holly Trinity said:
“We were absolutely delighted that The British Police Symphony Orchestra has chosen Sutton Coldfield – and indeed Holy Trinity – as a venue for one of their 2018 concerts. Many of the top classic composers featured in the programme from well known TV and film themes.
“This concert marked the first occasion that we have had a full symphony orchestra at Holy Trinity since our £1.6m re-ordering programme so the audience had a great chance to appreciate the new interior and the heritage of the 750 year old building which recently won 2 prestigious Civic Society Design Award.”
Reviewing on our Facebook page Jo said, “…An amazing performance enjoyed by all in our group. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication. It was an honour to be able to listen to you”.
