The British Police Symphony Orchestra returned to performing in style as we, once again, delighted the masses at Lichfield’s Proms in Beacon Park 2021!
The BPSO teamed up with favourites Claire Prewer-Jenkinson and Anando Mukerji as they entertained with highlights from Madame Butterfly, themes from popular James Bond films, Nessum Dorma to name a few before the traditional rousing proms finish.
The night was wrapped up with a fireworks finale watched by around 9,000 people in the park.
Speaking to Lichfield Live, Cllr Iain Eadie, cabinet member responsible for parks and leisure, said:
“It was such a fantastic evening and wonderful to be outside with so many members of our community, celebrating together. It was a joy to see everyone having a great time, waving their flags and lighty uppy things, enjoying the music and the atmosphere. Thank you to all the team who worked so hard over the year to organise Lichfield Proms, to all the sponsors who help support this spectacular event, and to the brilliant musicians for entertaining us”
Soloist Anando Mukerji said:
“Singing with the BPSO is a highlight in my calendar and it was wonderful being back with you all Saturday. I’m so glad you approve of the pieces I suggested and that the orchestra enjoyed playing them – no mean feat at all but they pulled it off with aplomb!”
You can see the BPSO next at Symphony Hall for their Proms Night Spectacular. Find out more here!
