The British Police Symphony Orchestra was thrilled to return to Lichfield’s iconic Proms in Beacon Park, welcoming thousands for another memorable event in 2024.
Hosted by the BPSO’s own Danny Mizon, the annual celebration featured performances by the City of Lichfield Concert Band and the British Police Symphony Orchestra, bringing a lively mix of classical, film, and pop music to an enthusiastic audience.
As concert-goers gathered, the City of Lichfield Concert Band set the stage with a diverse selection of popular tunes, classical themes, and film music, creating an inviting atmosphere as attendees settled in.
Despite heavy rain, spirits remained high as the British Police Symphony Orchestra took the stage under the baton of conductor Richard Jenkinson. The audience stayed engaged and upbeat, undeterred by the weather, as they enjoyed an impressive program.
The concert closed with a rousing finale, prompting the crowd to rise, wave flags, and join in the patriotic spirit with anthems like Rule Britannia, Jerusalem, and Pomp & Circumstance (Land of Hope and Glory). The night ended spectacularly with a fireworks display, lighting up the park and bringing another successful Proms in Beacon Park to a close.
